Bullying Celebrities? Suicide Petitions?

I ask you to please read everything I put in this post. And not to jump and judge instantly. I also ask for you feedback on what you think of this situation.

http://www.allkpop.com/2012/02/block-bs-p-o-hospitalized
Please click the above link and read that article. It talks about how a young singer(P.O.) from a Korean pop group(Block B) has been hospitalized due to the stress and worries he has from people saying hateful things to him after he and his fellow groups members made a mistake. I don't know if you know this, but Thailand had horrible flooding recently and it has been a huge tragedy. During and interview in Thailand the Block B boys acted childish and rudely. They made a few hurtful statements about the flooding. Things such as only having 7000 won (6-7 US dollars) to donate to the flood victims. And then laughing and joking around about it. The boys of Block B have a very carefree image and they always roll with it. But at that moment was not the time to be goofing off.

Since then the boys have been flung into a whirlwind of hate and bad accusations. The media blew the problem up. The didn't use trustworthy sources and statements about this issue. Anti's(people who are only for hating a certain group or person) have spread many false things about this issue. They cut the interview down into pieces to make it seem as the whole interview was rude and horrible. They also translated many things in the wrong way so that many people would take it wrong.

At first I thought bad of the boys, even as a fan, and thought it was very wrong of them. I still feel it was wrong, but since then they have made several official and sincere apologies. And for that I forgive them. I know that the Thai people may feel differently but not as horribly as some anti's. Below i will post the links to the Block B boys' apologies.

That link is to their video apology with translations. Block B's leader Zico shaved his head to show his remorse towards this situation.

That link is to the boys' written apologies. Each member wrote one. And each is translated.

After you have read what I have written and read these articles and watched the video, I want you to read this article again. (the first one)

The fact that there are horrible people that would petition for certian person's suicide just because of a mistake with their words makes me want to cry. These boys didn't murder or rape anyone. They simple acted childish, and didn't think before they spoke. Their situation has been taken out of context and now it is out of hand. To think that their budding career is in danger because of this is saddening. They are talented young boys who need to reflect and keep working hard.

Below is the comment I made on one of the articles. It goes into more detail with my opinions on the matter. And my wishes of people coming together to forgive and move on.

"They are obviously sincerely sorry. I wish everyone would leave them be so they can reflect on their actions. These boys are truely talented and need to be able to share their talent. Yes they said things they shouldn't have and made mistakes. But everyone does that. I'm sure every single person doing and saying horrible things about these boys have done or said wrongful things. So if we all can just move past this together everything will be okay. Just because they are idols doesn't mean they are perfect. People need to still recognize that. They are expecting to much of these idols sometimes. Yes what happended to the Thai people was a tragedy and people are still suffering. But please find it in your heart to be able to forgive people who have made mistakes like these boys. Even if you are not a fan you can still forgive them. If you can't see that they are truely sorry than I feel bad for you. To take this issue as far as suicide petitios? I can't believe I actually read something so horrible.. It makes me want to cry when I think that there are such ignorant and simply mean people in this world. And I feel sorry for these boys and I wish them the best. I also feel sorry for these people who seem to just live to hate. That is not living. That is drowning yourself."

Please give me your feedback on this current situation. There is also a video of their video, but it is near impossible to find the true original one. But if you just google it or search it on youtube I am sure you will find a version of it. The reason I am not posting the video in this post is because I don't want to post a version of it that is edited. Thank you for reading. And I hope that I will continue to post here. Thanks again for reading. (sorry for any spelling mistakes. I will edit later)

Why bully? And how can schools stop it?

I honestly don't know if there is one specific reason for their actions or not. Many people say it is because they feel the need to make themselves feel powerful. Or that it is the only way they can take out their anger that they have because of their own problems in their own life. Whatever the reason may be, I still do not think it is acceptable. People that bully do not get an award for the best bully. They won't get famous from it. Or become a millionaire from it. It may make them feel a little better temporarily, but that will ware off. And eventually they will realize the mistakes they made and feel remorse for their actions. If they really have that many problems then they need to reach out.

Both the bullier and the bullied need help. Many people say "Reach out to a parent or teacher." but do they really understand how hard it is for teenagers to talk to their parents or teachers? Even if someone has very understanding parents, it can be hard to talk to them. And unless you somehow run into that one great teacher, there is no way a kid is going to tell them all about their problems.

CASD seems to frown upon close relationships between students and teachers. The elementary school I went to was like a family. You could trust all the teachers, and they were very involved and loved what they were doing. U.L. Gordy (my elementary school) got shut down because of how small it was. Now it is practically impossible to find a teacher in CASD that actually cares about your life and wants to help you. Let alone one that likes their job as a teacher and wants you to succeed in life. Yea there are a handful of teachers that are nice and enjoy their jobs. I have been lucky enough to meet some of them. But the majority of CASD teachers I have had from 6th grade and up are just not fit for their job. Many act as if they cannot stand their jobs. Others really don't care how you do in their class. There are many that make you feel dumb and insignificant. There is no way that a kid will turn to one of these teachers when they are having a problem. And if you do they will most likely stick you into the school councilor's office with anyone else that may be involved in your problems. Then you just feel embarrassed and it might just end up making matters worse.

I think schools need to work on the relationships between students and teachers. The relationships I built with the teachers I had in elementary school were lasting ones. I continue to keep in touch with them and they are still extremely helpful. They will forever be a big part in my life. I believe that if there were better teachers throughout CASD, and the country, that bullying would start to dwindle. Atleast in schools that is...

Change of Plans

When I first started this blog it was out of boredom, and was to be about art. But recently I got the inspiration (from my mom) to make this about bullies and their bullying. I personally have not been bullied much, but I have witnessed it way too many times. I use to go to Chambersburg Area School District (CASD). I went there up until 10th grade. Although my reasons for leaving were health issues and not bully issues, I know that at CASD bullying is a huge issue. And even now I see it continue.

I saw the bullying constantly when I was in school. And now that I'm not I still see it through online places like Facebook, YouTube, and many other sites. I am on the computer a lot because I now do cyber school. The computer has given me even more windows to witness this horrible thing. I don't think I will ever understand why people bully, and how they get away with it. I hope to bring maybe just an ounce of light to this problem. And maybe someone will do something about it. I really don't know what will come of this blog. But I do hope it helps in some way. I will post many things I personally have witnessed, and things others I know have witnessed. I want bullying to stop. I'm outraged to see it continue and hurt so many people.

Another thing is that I hope to inform people about the facts of bullying. Ways to help someone you know who is being bullied. Ways to stop it. Ways to report it. Inform you about people that will actually help you or someone else you know. I am willing to help in as many ways I can. If I can help even just one person I will be greatful.

I hope this is a successful journey. Nice to meet you all! Thank you!

The Arts

The Arts, in my opinion, is a wonderful topic. It is a very broad topic that I love. My hope is to open people's minds to more than what they already know about art. I want talk about art that is specific to certain cultures. Also about different artists that I find interesting. And about everything about ART! I am very new to this and I'm not a very good writer, but I will do my best to bring out different knowledge about art and to hopefully introduce some amazing artists you may have not heard of. I will also discuss certain topics like 'Sewing' for example and will hopefully bring out facts and opinions about the art. I also hope to learn more about art for myself too. I want to discover new things about art and other artists. Hopefully this will prompt those discoveries for all of us.

I want to say a few things about myself too. My name is Shea and am heading towards the best parts of my life. I have a great love for everything art. Music and dance are something I like to take part in just about every day. Drawing is one of my favorite things to do. I hatch ideas from music for a new drawing or painting all the time. I'm a very opinionated person, but I am going to do my best to not let my opinions take over my posts. Eventually I hope to move to Boston, MA. and to attend an art college there. Boston is one of my favorite cities (so far). I love all animals and have 4 myself. Animals, Music, Nature, People, Cities, Traditions, Movies, and all sorts of other things inspire me. My mom is a great drawer who did not get to chase her dreams and did not have any help. I hope that I will be able to chase mine with her help. She has helped me with many things and I am so thankful. I look up to her because she is a strong woman. And I hope to learn from both my own and my mom's mistakes to get farther in life and to have more opportunities. I owe many things to her. Thanks mom!

I can't wait for this to continue! I hope I can keep up with this and gain followers! Nice to meet you!
